Independence Day! Author's Tag

Hello Lovely People,

Happy Soon To Be Independence Day! I hope everyone will enjoy their 4th of July and any other exciting plans they have this weekend. I been going through changes alot, and in a chaotic environment, but that is in the mist of changing. Thanks to Kim Chance, an author I admire I decided to participate in the author/writers tag and answer a few questions about myself that some people may have wanted to know.

What do you eat or drink while writing?

I would prefer to eat vanilla bean scones and a caramel frappe with chocolate drizzled on top from Starbucks. If I can't do that I would prefer green tea or any tea with Heath bar/Symphony bar (blue) or Whopper candy or just sparkling flavored water with the candy/Heath bar. On special occasions I will do Ferrero Rocher.

What do you listen to while writing?

I originally did songs that reflected the theme in the book. Thanks to Kim Chance for introducing the thought of film scores while writing. I love it they often help me through writer's block now.

What is your biggest distraction?

Probably the chaos that's going on around me until I move, which will be soon. My other distraction is my favorite tv shows like I recently did a Gilmore Girls marathon. Now I am doing this old cartoon I watched when I was a kid that I loved called Fillmore. I also surf the web, but its mostly for research purposes if its not  my favorite anime or manga.  Anime/Manga/Reading Books are great distractions when I have writer's block  though because it helps me  figure out where I went wrong and it's also fun.

Worst thing that has happened to you while writing?

When I did the complete story board & first scene in my first ever screenplay and lost the whole thing.  And another is I misplaced all the background information on my characters for Entrapment a while back scariest thing ever, but I eventually found it.

What is the best thing that ever happened to you while writing?

Writing Entrapment and starting my own literary imprint, LitArtistry Press and registering it which I will be giving more details about later.

Who do you communicate with while writing?

I do not communicate with anyone anymore during the writing process other than leaking excerpt of  chapters. I am an introvert so it a little difficult with groups of people, but I am good with one on one conversations, but I am slowly overcoming that.

What is your inspiration? What makes you productive?

I get inspiration from everywhere, but most when I am reading or checking out my favorite authors  and what they are up to, it motivates me to keep going and I remember why I wanted to be a writer. I think: I need to get busy. One way I  get productive is when I realize how much I have done and how much I want to complete. Another time is, I call it the Euphoria moment when ideas overflowing in my head I need to get them out before I loose them. Now I have a vault file for story ideas. Well I am thinking of setting up a reward for myself after draft is completed to motivate me even more. Reward: A pint of pistachio ice cream...lol Yum :-) it has become my new ultra favorite ice cream besides moo-llennium crunch, birthday cake, and bunny tracks ice cream.

What do you or other writers do that really annoy you?

I annoy myself when I overthink things and my perfectionist side comes in and/or self doubt kicks in. I am learning to master my thoughts though. I also annoy myself when I double post because some social media sites are interconnected I also hate that I am can get anxious at times, but I appreciate all my flaws. One thing that annoys me about what other writers do is that some are judgmental or overly critical when they are not perfect themselves, but other than that I love writers they are awesome!😉

Hello My Lovely People,

Good Afternoon, I hope all is well. I've been busy coming up with ways I can improve myself as a writer as well as treating writing as business since I want to do write books and screen plays long term. I am thinking of ways I can connect with readers more on a broader scale as well as help my fellow indie writers reach broader audiences, reviews, and promote their work. I have also been working trying to close many of my open projects.

Surprises Are Coming! Surprises Are Coming!

Hello My Lovely People,

I hope all of you are having a lovely week! Sorry for the late Friday postings I've had a crazy few weeks, but things are getting back on track. As some of you may know who keep up with me on social media I have been busy.  I am currently work on three book projects. I am working on Eden's Journey, I am modifying anthology Rhythm of the Garden and changing the title to Keys of the Garden, and I am extending my book Entrapment with 7 brand new chapters. With that being said I am launching all of these under my  new literary imprint. More details on that will be revealed a later date. I have not forgotten about Morayne's Arrow or Pages of an Hourglass I will be working toward their completion after current works in progress are published. So stay locked in on m social media radar. 😊

The Greatest Things In The World

Hello Beautiful People,

Good Afternoon, today is  a time in which we take time of remembrance to those who died in the armed forces. I would like to see today as a day of healing and thanks as well. I  appreciate the things that have been done for me the 26 years I have lived to see. So many times through out the week or day we complain and become unappreciative because things don't go our way or things just not going right in our lives that day or that week. We should remember to be thankful if we wake up to see, smell, touch, feel, taste, and breathe.

For every moment we  are are alive with healthy body and in our right frame of mind with all our senses in tact and functioning  that alone is something positive that we can appreciate out of each day, every week, every month, every year that  is not promised to any of us, but  is the greatest thing that we should always remember. Stife, un-forgiveness, jealousy, fear, regret, should not be welcomed in to the days you have.

Life is too precious.  I struggled with un-forgiveness for a longtime and sometimes still do. Then I remember that I still have life and though its not perfect or where I want to be I am alive, so I have another day to do what I love and go after my dreams. So healing, patience, thanks are top priorities in relation to my end goal. I think in times like these and on a regular bases healing, patience, and thanks should be practiced. Love the life you are given and strive for your best self in this life that is the legacy of those who died I feel want to leave behind in striving for our peace.'

Lock In! That Novel ~ Writing Plan!

Hello Lovely People,

I have you are staying  blessed and having a wonderful day. I have alot to catch up on since my computer screen is broken and temporarily using school computer. Which limits productivity since I am a commuter, but I will get every thing done, so while I am playing catch before spring break I am posting today instead of Friday! With that being said I hope this will help screen and story writers better plan out the novel or script.

3 Acts -15 Chapters * Can be  broken down  30 chapters  story or can be left as 15 chapter story. I use both depending on what I am looking for.

Chapter 8: Problems bring them together. (Enemy Strikes ~ The enemy threatens their new world/personal goal/something. Main Character Fights ~ The recovery and Main Character decides they won't stand for this.)

Accessorizing! Attributes Of The Characters! The Essentials!

Hey Lovely People,

I hope everyone is enjoying there Friday! Today's is for aspiring writers for books or screenplays! That need help with story and character development. I decided to give tips on writing that has helped me and that I have gathered for you!!😊😉

Above all else be creative!
 
     1. Setting & I.S. (Initial Scene) - Action!

• Where do your character(s) exist?
• Ex: My Story - Eden: character Eden Everson: was born in Crescent Hills, Skiania, Saletheia. Planet: Twilight Realm.

     2. Become the Reporter! Paparazzi! W.W.W.W.W. H. ( Who, What, When, Where, Why, & How)

• Schooling, Job, Purpose and Mini Bio. Biographies of your characters help you know your characters inside and out. Schooling and job can be included in this, but the purpose of the character depends on the grand scheme of the story. When you decide if you are writing a novella, novelette, novel, epic/ series. The purpose of each character can vary on which type of story or screenplay you are writing.

• Ex: Eden is Book 1 in  the Keepers of the Gates series. Each book will have a different main character. However the world is the same as well as some of the characters. It that a different part of the Salethia will be featured  and different country in the world will be the main setting. In EJ the MCs are Eden, Hanzi,Toph, Kai, Kat , and few Capitol characters. The minor characters are just important as major characters. whether its soldiers, royal guards, or rogue militia in the government planning a coup behind castle walls all are key to how your story will move forward. However, the main characters for each book in the series is a different gate keeper.

      3. Hero(s) & The Villain(s)

• Make sure that the hero is clearly distinguished from your villain(s). Give them attitudes, habits, mannerisms, give them  a profile. Hobbies, favorite food, interests, favorite hangouts in the world you created. Who are that characters allies and enemies? Give them a past a detailed background. (Mini biographies are imperative and beneficial)
• Supernatural/Fantasy/Paranormal Stories Only: Give your characters special abilities understand their abilities inside & out. Do some research for weapons, currency, and  supernatural creatures of the world you are creating.

• Ex: Book l Valhalla Legacy - Rise Of The Legacy all my main characters have profiles and mini bios. The villains that are crucial to driving the story have mini bios.
• Book 2 Valhalla Legacy - Trials Of The Legacy: villain character: Ezra Kingston aka Bren backstory will play a major role in book 2. (Spoiler Alert!)

4. Define The Goal:

What goal(s) is your hero trying to reach? What will  be the  pitfalls that tries to to stop him/her from reaching the goal/mission? 

Ex:

 Rise Of The Legacy: the hero(s) goal are to save the world and keep an apocalypse and time loop from coming by maintaining the harmony and balance of the world.

Eden: Eden has a choice to make about her own fate and protecting the peace and a friend while trying to find the culprits behind the attacks and the uprising across Saletheia that could lead to a world war.

***WD(weapons database) & Name/City Bank is useful &  knowing various currencies is useful and select the right ones for the world you are creating. I created my own and if I don't think the one's from my name bank will fit I choose from a character/world/currency name generators*** A really good one is the one below.
